Hi,
Recently, I have been thinking about a solution for the problem I talked about 1 month ago. The problem is the schedule in which tennis tournaments are carried out. That schedule can affect my academical results and my development in tennis, so I have to find a solution, which is what I am going to talk about today.
I was recently in a tennis tournament during weekdays and I saw that I got very behind in many of the assignments of school, so "not getting behind" will be the main focus of my solution. I can contribute to solve the problem by telling the teachers to send me the work and the assignments that my grade did when I wasn't at school, but that would also require a contribution from the teachers. Another way I could help is going to the reinformcement sessions, but this is an "extra weight" that I wouldn't have to carry under normal conditions. Also, teachers could put me shorter works that evaluate the same as the normal assignments. By doing these three things, I would catch up faster and my academical performance wouldn't lower so much.
Besides, other way to solve the problem is the one I said when I was introducing the problem, which is to make the high category tournaments in bigger clubs. This way, there would be many courts available, which could allow all the tennis matches to take place only in 2 days, during weekends. This would make me not to have to miss any day of class, which would help me to mantain my academical results normally. The problem is that there are not many "big" clubs that can be used for tournaments.
All these are viable solutions, but they are difficult to apply. Additionaly, these solutions are not only my responsibility since they also depend on the availability of clubs with many courts and on the help that teachers are willing to give me. In fewer words, I, on my own, can't contribute much or, much less, solve the problem completely because also I depend on other external factors.

Maus and Anne's Frank Diary
February 25th, 2017
Hi,
I just finished reading a book called Maus, and I saw that it had some similarities and differences with the entries of Anne's Frank Diary. Today, I will compare these two in their main aspects.
-The general similarity is that the main idea or events of both stories are related to the same period of time, the Holocaust: Vladek narrates to his son, Artie, about his life during the Holocaust and Anne Frank tells her life during that period of time as well.
-Talking about the plot of the stories, in both of them, their main character had to hide and was "chased" by the Nazis. They both hid in bunkers or safe places to survive.
-Also, both of the stories express how bad the situation was in that time: Vladek tells that they had to live with a very little amount of food and Anne Frank says that they had to be very moderated in the use of resources and in consuming food due to how difficult was to acquire those.
-Also, both of the main characters were sent to a concentration camp in Auschwitz in which none of them died.
-The last important similarity I found is that both of them include literary devices. Maus is an allegory itself, in which animals represent characters and the relations between them, and Anne Frank used metaphors and other literary devices to represent better the situation in which she lived and the way she felt.
Those are the main similarities between these two stories talking about plot, setting and characters. Still there are some others but they are not so noticeable or important.

Tennis tournaments
February 18th, 2017
Hi,
Today, I will talk about the problem I mentioned before. It was the schedule in which the tennis tournaments are carried out. This is something that is affecting me in my academical performance and my development in tennis.
It could affect my academical performance because the highest category tournaments are taking place during weekdays. I would have to miss some days from school to play those tournaments because they are part of my life in tennis. So if I play these tournaments, I would have to "learn" by catching up (at home) in what my classmates did during those days in which I was playing the tournament; but it is not the same as learning directly from class. This would make that my learning process decays and my academical results also, all due to the change in the schedule of the tournamnets.
In the other hand, it affects my development in tennis because tournaments are essential for my performance in the field of competition. But as some (the ones of highest category) tournaments are during weekdays, I have to decide whether to go to the tournament or stay at school. And as I said before, being presencially at school is very important, so I have to put the study before the tournaments. That's why I haven't go tournamnets lately, which has made that my development in torunaments becomes worse; now I'm not used to play tournaments, so I get nervous and play bad. So, again, due to the change in the schedule of tournaments, my tennis development, in competition, has worsen.
Actually, I'm not playing tournaments, but the ideal is to play as much of them as I can and the ones of highest category as well, so I have to find a solution. A solution that allows me, both, to keep good academical results and play lots of tournaments. The only solution that comes to my mind is to make the tournaments in bigger clubs. That way, more tennis courts are available and more matches can be played at the same time, finally allowing all the matches to take place in only 2 days - in the weekend. The only problem is that there are not much of such clubs, but if it was possible it could be a viable solution.

Introduction
February 13th, 2017
Hi,
Hi,
I am Juan Camilo Sabogal, I'm 14 years old, and I am a student from Gimnasio La Montaña who trains tennis every day. I played tennis tournaments some weekends, but now it is more difficult for me to participate in these beacuse of their schedule. I will talk about this problem I have, which is similar to what Anne Frank talked about in her diary. She wrote about her daily life and how the Holocaust affected her.
I'd like to tell some similarities and differences between her diary and what I will write in my blog. We both wrote our blog or diary, respectively, being teenagers. Also, we share topics because both of us talk about an event or something that is affecting us or we don't like, and the thing we talk about is happening at the same time as we write our texts. In the other hand, we are different in that, in her diary, she expresses a lot what she thinks and how she was feeling in that moment - her mood; while I don't like to express that much what I think. Also, she talks more about herself, feelings or emotions and I talk about tennis tournaments in general, not about my emotions and that.
